On Pins and Needles

Ok so I’m not a very good blogger.   Here it is, October already. 

My latest project has been a “Bombshell” dress, taught by Gretchen Hirsch on www.craftsy.com.   This class is a lot of fun.  I like how you can go at your own pace.  I’ve been working on this dress little by little the past few weeks.   I’m glad I took an online class before this one, the “Little Black Dress” taught by Susan Khalje on www.patternreview.com.  Many of the techniques from Susan’s class are used in this Bombshell dress class.  

Here is the bodice, it is underlined, and the bra cups are padded a little bit.   I’m using a silk shantung in beige.

My current project is something I never do, I’m actually making some shorts for summer!  I thought these were so cute!

In all my years of sewing, I’ve never actually had to make a welt pocket!  So this is my first one:

I’m pretty happy with it.
